On Sunday, June 20th I joined the Jones and the Kopald family for a Family day party photoshoot. They were celebrating lots of things that day…so they just called it Family Day. There was of course Fathers Day, a graduation and 2 birthdays….that’s a lot of celebrating. The family was wonderful and I had a great time with all of them, and they even fed me cake in the end, which is a huge big bonus for me and baby
Check out some of the fun and silly pictures we ended up getting that day….and click here to view the slideshow.

Extended Family Photoshoot – San Diego, CA
Wednesday, June 30th, 2010Kyan turns 2!!
Friday, June 18th, 2010Last Sunday, June 13th, we celebrated Kyan’s 2nd birthday with a Wonder Pets themed birthday party. I can’t believe he’s already 2, it seemed like just yesterday that he was turning 1, and the day before when he was just a week old! Kyan is turning out to be such a cutie and now he talks so much. It’s a mixture of Chinese, English and gibberish, so it’s pretty hard to understand him all the time. His favorite show is the Wonder Pets, so Alen bought all the wonder pet stuff she could find online. We didn’t even sing happy birthday to him, we sung the wonder pet song….how funny is that. Although I think that’s the only song he knows right now
Check out some of the pics from the day!
This is Kyan when you tell him to smile….it’s almost like he’s making a eww face than smiling tho.
So Kyan has a strange obsession with shoes, mainly high heels, the higher the better. I think he likes the sound it makes when he walks. What really funny is that he actually walks better in them than without them.
The pinata looks as big as Kyan!
Doris and James – Engaged!! – La Jolla Cove
Wednesday, June 16th, 2010On Sunday, I met up with my friends Doris and James and their dog Teji for a little photoshoot at La Jolla Cove. I met Doris 11 years ago. We met when I was living with my friend at the time and he wasn’t home to hang out. Since we were both bored, we ended up talking on the phone then later hanging out ourselves instead and ever since that day we remained friends. Sometimes we won’t see each other for over a year, but whenever we do meet up, we pick up like we’ve always been hanging out, joking and laughing way too much.
I’m so happy for Doris and James that they’ll finally be getting married this summer. Congratulations you two, see you at the wedding!
I like this series of pics….it looks like Teji is thinking…”great they’re at it again.”
4 & 5 months Preggers and It’s a BOY!!
Tuesday, June 15th, 2010So I’m a little behind on my tummy pictures. I’m creeping up onto 6 months, and I didn’t even post 4 and 5 months. We are super excited to be having a boy!! Some of the names in the running are Aidan or Aiden (don’t know how I like it spelled yet), Brady, Caden (I know that rhymes with Aidan), Michael Buble Jr., Edward, Jacob and Charlie threw in LaDainian Tomlinson, Optimus Prime and Maximus. Okay so those last few names were a stretch, but you never know right. I’m also still trying to decide on what to do with the baby’s room. All I know is that I think I want it to look more modern than traditional babyish type stuff. But time is flying right by, and the baby will be lucky if the crib gets put together on time….eek. So far the pregnancy has been super good to me. No real morning sickness and everything has been pretty normal. I already feel super big, but I know I’ll only get bigger….sigh. No funny cravings, tho I do love turkey sandwiches on a certain wheat bread with mayonnaise and cucumbers, and potato salad on the side. Of course a piece of chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream always sounds good to me too, but I haven’t caved in on that yet. So here are pics of me and my tummy…stay tuned for more tummy pics soon!

Lanchi & DeGuan’s Wedding – Huntington Beach Hilton Waterfront Hotel
Friday, June 11th, 2010On May 29th, I had the pleasure again of second shooting with Pye from Lin and Jirsa Photography. We first started the day at the bride’s house where they did the traditional morning ceremony. In the Chinese and Vietnamese culture the wedding ceremony actually takes place in the morning. The Groom arrives at the bride’s home and there are gifts given to the bride’s family as a symbolic gesture. There is also praying to bless the marriage and honor those who are not with us. Both sides of the family also have representatives to speak for each sides families and the union is formed. However nowadays couples will not only honor the Asian traditions but they also have an American ceremony and that took place at the beautiful Hilton Waterfront Hotel in Huntington Beach. It was my first time meeting Lanchi and De, and they are the sweetest couple. They met in Boston while Lanchi was there getting her college degree. Then unfortunately she had to move all the way back to California. But with commitment and hard work they made the long distance relationship work and now they get too live happily ever after. They are quiet and reserved, but yet fun and silly at the same time. It was a very emotional ceremony and there were some great speeches that night and you could just feel the love that surrounded the couple and how happy everyone was for them. Congratulations Lanchi and De!!
The groom chillin while waiting for the bride to get ready.
A little liquid courage before the ceremony, with the guys.
