Me and my little man
So, I’m a little behind…it’s almost the end of January and I’m just updating you with Christmas pictures. It has been a crazy few months, that’s for sure. I can’t believe Aidan is already 4 months. It went by so fast, yet it’s only been 4 months, it’s such a strange feeling. Aidan has had many firsts already, first Halloween, first Thanksgiving, first Christmas and first New Years. And now he can even hold his head up when he’s on his belly, almost sit up, rolling over on one side, and giggle, laugh and converse with you in baby gibberish. He’s definitely a lot more fun now….except when he’s hungry and tired.
Christmas was so much fun this year. It was definitely a lot more work, now that there is a little one. But it was fun decorating a new house and sharing it with Charlie and our son. We spent Xmas eve at home and had dinner with my mom and brother. We made chicken pot pie soup, had the famous “Oprah approved” chicken pie from Harry and David’s, green bean casserole, corn and mash potatoes. And for dessert, homemade mint chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter cookies, and tiramisu (my brother’s girlfriend brought that over with hot chocolate.
On Christmas morning we opened presents with Aidan. He basically sat there while we held presents up to him and took pictures. I also opened my present from Charlie….he got me the tall uggs I wanted with the button on the sides and I got him the ESPN 30 for 30 DVD documentaries he wanted…..oh and btw, we also got each other a car….yeah, Merry Christmas to us!! We have a new 2011 Charcoal gray Toyota Camry now. Although I guess the car is more for Aidan, since that’s the car we drive him around in.
Afterwards we headed over to Charlie’s parent’s house for the annual Christmas party with Charlie’s family and my mom and brother. As usual we ate too much and it was chaos when we all opened our presents.
For New Years Eve we also spent it at Charlie’s parents house and we ate some more, then we went home and Aidan woke up just in time for the Count down. We gave him a kiss at the stroke of mid-night and gave each other a kiss, it was the beginning of 2011 and I was so blessed to spent it with my new family. Happy 2011 to all of my friends and family and to all of you who supported me and my business!!!
This year’s Christmas card design. Owl themed of course. (For those of you who don’t understand why I’m obsessed with owls now…it’s because that was the theme for Aidan’s room and it just became an obsession of mine to find all things owl.)
The present is bigger than Aidan!
Papa showing Aidan what potential things he can break next year at Christmas. Mama reassured papa that I can always re-buy things on his credit card
I’m a bit behind on my belly bump pics, since I’m already 8 mo preggo now. But here is my 7 mo belly pics. I decided to sport the shirt my friend Coleen got me a while ago. She gave it to me for my birthday in April, and back then I didn’t feel quite big enough to wear it. Now it’s my favorite shirt! It’s made by 2Chix. and I get quite the smiles and compliments when I wear it. No real cravings still, although I was on a fruit kick this week. Nectarines were my favorite last week, and now it’s black plum week. And Jamba Juice sounds good to have everyday….but maybe it’s cuz it’s so hot. Funny how summer decides to kick into high gear when I’m super pregnant. Didn’t want to be hot when I only had a little belly bump.
Baby is growing everyday and getting so strong. The kicks are getting quite intense and he seems to like sticking his little toes between my ribs….that’s not cool. Especially when I’m sitting. So working in front of the computer and especially long drives are not as fun anymore.
We’re slowly getting the nursery ready. Not quite there yet, it’s just been a whirlwind of busy these days. This weekend will be my baby shower, I’m super excited to see what Kimmy, my BFF, has in store for me. Don’t worry, I’ll share pics of that after. So until then, have a happy Friday!
In July, Charlie and I decided to take a week off and go on one last road trip up North before the baby arrives. This time we decided to go to Yosemite, since I’ve never been there before. I always wanted to see the gigantic Sequoia trees and the waterfalls. So that was our first stop. It was beautiful there, and we’ll definitely take a trip back there when the baby is bigger, and by then I’ll actually be able to hike again. Amazing how much huffing and puffing it is when you’re tummy is so huge and you’re carrying it around up trails.
The next day we left Yosemite and drove over to Cupertino where the Apple Mothership was. I know, it’s a little nerdy, but I definitely wanted to check out the apple campus. We basically just went there and checked out the building and I was wishing I could work there…it was nice At the store I bought a “Hello, I’m a Mac” shirt and I bought a little one for the baby too. The first shirt I bought him….good choice I thought….sorry Charlie, baby will be a mac baby
Afterwards we drove up to San Francisco, and had our clam chowder and fried shrimp at the wharf. It’s amazing how it was the middle of summer and it was still freezing in San Francisco. The next day we spent the morning walking around Union Square and buying cupcakes at Cako Bakery.
We saved the cupcakes for later when we went to Monterey. We got there in time for lunch on the pier, and afterwards we had a cupcake buffet with ice cream….it was delish. It was beautiful in Monterey and Carmel. The next day we took a nice little drive through Pebble Beach and ended the drive in Carmel for lunch.
Next stop after Carmel was San Luis Obispo. This time we actually didn’t stay at the Apple Farm, which is usually our Norm. We ended up staying at the Avila Village Inn. It was about 10 minutes from San Luis Obispo. It’s very peaceful and relaxing there and a nice place to stay for our last night on our roadtrip. That thursday night we went to go check out the San Luis Obispo Farmers Market. It was lots of fun. I love Farmer’s markets, and of course we just ate more that night. The BBQ pulled pork sandwich we had was yummers!
Sadly our trip came to an end. The next day we made our way down back to San Diego. It was really a great trip. We always have fun on the road and visiting all our favorites places up North and eating it up all the way! The next trip we take will be so different, we’ll have another little traveler with us and it’ll be fun to experience a trip with the little guy.
Last Friday, I got to go to my 9th Buble concert….yes 9th!!! I am crazy, but I’m not alone, my friend Kim who came with me went 10 times. And all of them were worth it!! Out of the 9 concerts, this one ranked #3 for me. Definitely one of the best ones I’ve been to. It was at the Staple Center and it was only the 14th concert in his new tour. I have already listened to the new album a million times and loved it and I was really excited to see the new concert.
Four years ago, when we started going to these concerts it was so much easier to buy tickets, now that there is a bigger fan base, it’s getting harder and harder. In fact Kim and I didn’t even sit next to each other, it was the only way we were able to get floor seats. At first I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy the concert as much sitting next to strangers, but once it started, I forgot that I Kim was even there. Probably would have left her, if I didn’t bump into her when I was running to the front of the stage….yes I’m one of those fans. The concert started off ok, mainly because I was still sitting pretty far back and he was a little speck on the stage. But it became way better when suddenly he jumped off the stage and made his way to the middle of the arena. I quickly ran up to the second stage they set up and found myself right there in front. So close that I was right next to the guitar player….literally. That made my night, cuz it’s just way better when you get to see him right up close and singing, it’s like he’s just singing for you…..hehehe….sigh. Afterwards, he went back to the front of the stage and I went up there too….that’s when I ran into Kim again, and we finally made our way to the first row for his encore songs…..loved it. The ending of the concerts are always so good.
Check out the pics….sorry I didn’t bring the Canon 5D with me, I figured they wouldn’t let me in with that big ole thing. The pictures weren’t that great this time, I was too busy enjoying the real thing, to concentrate on taking the pics (*I did try to take a video when he was super close to me, but I wasn’t even concentrating on what I was doing….I’m the world’s worst videographer….good thing I chose to be a photographer instead
My far away seats. The guy’s bald head really got in the way of my picture.
The new stage looks great, loving the screens in the background. This concert had a much bigger budget.
This is when he was in the middle of the arena….closeness!!
See how close the guitar guy was to me. I couldn’t even zoom out anymore.
This is towards the end of the concert….love the encore performances!
We took this picture when we went to happy hour at Figaro Bistrot in Silver Lake, before the concert. Food was very yummy there.
After the concert we were on such a high we went to eat again, first we had dessert crepes at Syrup Desserts, then ramen in J town. And yes it was in that order, dessert first. We didn’t get home till almost 3 am….what party animals we are!!!
Courageous, active, and self-assured. Optimistic, passionate and independent. Rebellious, dynamic, and unpredictable. Quick tempered but considerate. Affectionate but careless. The Tiger is a natural born leader and symbolizes power, passion and daring.

I cannot believe that it is already the end of 2009. It seems like I just started the year. The days are flying by so much quicker now that we are older. I remember when I was a kid the days seemed so long and it took forever for 1 year to go by, and now it’s just flying past me lightning speed. I try not to make New Year resolutions, but usually I can’t help it and I still do. I guess cuz when a New Year begins, you use that as your fresh start to achieve the goals you didn’t get to last year. So I’ll make my same ole resolutions, lose weight so I’m back to that 2006 wedding body , take my vitamins and be healthier. I think in general I stick to that resolution, but I like to skip days on being good I’m excited for 2010 to begin, mainly because I have already made a promise to myself that I will work harder on my businesses, both Creative Vision and also my new business InvitationParlour.com I can’t wait to share with you all, on my blog next year! So I hope all of you have a wonderful New Years, be safe, have fun…..and see you in 2010!!!
